How to Make Paper Pinecone Ornaments

March 31, 2018 Leave a Comment

Paper pincone ornaments are simple to make with cut-up ribbon or paper pinned onto a Styrofoam egg. This pinecone ornament is made using a printable paper Christmas kit.  It requires about 1 1/2 pages of 8.5×11 paper, but this could vary depending on how layered you want the pinecone to look.

Cut the paper into 1 inch strips. Then cut them again at about 1 inch and fold each one so that there is a point on one side.

Next, take the Styrofoam egg and short applique pins and start attaching the folded papers onto the narrow part of the egg first.

Worked your way around and up the egg to the wide part. Once to the top, leave some unused portion of the egg open in order to add the hanging ribbon and some embellishments. You can use a  a hot glue gun to add the embellishments.
