Journaling and planners are really hot right now. So why not fix yourself up your own fancy notebooks?
Supplies:
- Composition Notebook
- Scrapbooking paper
- Modge Podge
- Self-adhesive rhinestones or other decorations
- Buttons
- Ribbon
- Corner Rounder
- Mini Glue Dots or glue stick
- Krylon Spray Sealer (if using printable paper)
Apply a coat of glue to the entire front of the notebook but do not put glue on the spine. Make sure it goes to the edges. Place your scrapbooking paper on the top, lining it up with the spine of the notebook. The paper will extend past the edge of the book. Turn the notebook over, open the cover, and trim the excess paper along the edge. Repeat these steps for the back of your notebook. If you are using printable paper, you might want to spray it with sealer first to avoid smudges from the ink.
You can add a bookmark by gluing or taping ribbon the back of the book before adding the paper for the back. The paper will cover the attachment point.
You can finish the seams by rubbing an ink pad along them for a dark finished look. Now it is time to decorate! Apply ribbon as decoration with glue or glue dots. Personally, I find glue dots neater and easier to use. You can add paper flowers, bows, rhinestones, buttons. There are many ways to dress it up. Here are a few for inspiration:
